It’s not often that you see someone Godwin themselves, but… wow.

As a historian who has spent lots of time on Nazi Germany, this bothers me because Hitler didn’t give the Jews a chance to renounce their Jewishness at all. The Nazi’s antisemitism was unique in history, because it was the first time someone hated the Jews because of their biology, rather than their belief system (Nazis killed Christian converts with Jewish ancestry just as gleefully).

Oh, and the liberals thing is offensive too.

seriously, Hitler never gave them the chance to renounce their faith. Jewish people started converting to Christianity, at first, during the Holocaust, however Hitler made it into law that Judaism was a RACE and not a RELIGION. he turned it into biology, and therefore it was impossible to renounce your religion.

SO SHUT THE FUCK UP.

not only am I liberal, but my family is Jewish (I, myself, don’t claim any religion) so this is offensive on all kinds of levels.

Here’s a tip, Mr. Adkins. Having the phrase “[w]e should do[…]what Hitler did” immediately invalidates your position. You just lost whatever political office you’re running for.*

*You had better lose whatever political office you’re running for. You’re advocating executing innocent people for no good reason. I don’t care if it’s hyperbole. It’s the worst fucking hyperbole ever, in that case.
