I actually didn’t know that I could play as a woman in ME1 when I bought it! I wasn’t even particularly interested in the game; I found my copy cheap at a flea market and had heard that the game was pretty decent, so I figured “what the hell, why not” and bought it.
My life hasn’t been the same since.
